Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are taking the next step in their relationship.
The 39-year-old pop star made the announcement on September 12. She took to Instagram to share the good news.
"Look at that," Sam says in the accompanying video. "Do you like it?"
"Yes!" Britney enthusiastically yells.
Sam also shared a post celebrating the good news and showing off Brit's beautiful 4-carat round diamond. Inside the band, there's an engraving that reads "lioness," Sam's nickname for Britney.
Sources say that the engagement has been a matter of when, not if, for years now.
"Things are finally looking up and it's starting to become very real for them that soon they'll be able to take back the reins and have full control as a couple," the source told Entertainment Tonight.
"They are ready to embrace that next chapter, and love each other without limits or without feeling like they are on a leash."
The next step for the couple? Children, if their circumstances allow for it.
"They want the whole family thing too. It's just a matter of timing," they said.
While many fans are excited for Britney, they're also calling for her to be cautious at this very transitionary time in her life. There will be a lot of changes coming, should her conservatorship truly come to a close.
